Orientating Yourself on the Routes

On your journey across the borders you will come across different types of signs and different colours. In France and Germany, always follow the green and white signs - the red and white signs in Switzerland.

Directional Signs

In all three countries you will find signs at major intersections showing the distance in kilometres to the next destination. In addition to these signs, there are logos to distinguish the tourist routes. Each route has an identifier which you can find in the route description.

In Switzerland and France, route identifiers are sometimes added to reminder signs.

Reminder Signs

Intermediate signs posted at regular intervals complement the directional signs and confirm that you are on the right road. If there are no signs at a junction, simply proceed to the next sign.
