Through the Vineyards by Electric Bicycle

Description

Enjoy the journey through the idyllic vineyards of Baselland and immerse yourself in history by visiting the historic old towns of Liestal and Rheinfelden.

This tour of the Basel region’s vineyards begins in the centre of the charming historical town of Liestal. The “Swiss National Bike Routes” Route 3 will lead you to Gelterkinden. Here, you can climb up to “Rickenbacher Höchi”. The route snakes through the vineyards of Wintersingen, Buus and Maisprach, where 53,000 bottles of wine are produced each year. The wine trail, along which information boards have been installed, is beautiful all year round, especially in late summer when the grape harvest is underway. From Buuser Egg, it’s recommended to take a detour through Landgasthof Farnsburg, where you can taste local dishes and wines on a terrace. Continue via Buus and Magden to the small town of Rheinfelden, a jewel founded by the house of Zähringen. After well-deserved refreshments by the Rhine, saddle up for Liestal via Olsberg, Arisdorf and Füllinsdorf on small secondary and forest roads.
